Hong Kong Airport lounges review

We cover all the airports in Asia, but if you are heading to one of the busiest airports in Asia - Hong Kong - check out the lounges below:
Cathay Pacific Deck Lounge
Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific The Deck lounge is to be found down the escalators as you leave the north wing security (the opposite end to Cathay's checkin), then turn to the extreme right (effectively, back on yourself) and then almost all the way to the end of the pier. Then take the escalator opposite from Gate 16, and head to the top 'mezzanine' level. T ...read more.

Cathay Pacific The Arrival Lounge
This tiny box of the Cathay Pacific The Arrival lounge is a great place to freshen up after the long flights from Asia or over the Pacific. It is located in the passageway between Terminals 1 and 2 (after you've gone through passport control and customs). It is quite hard to find: once you exit customs at either the top or bottom of Terminal 1, h ...read more.

Cathay Pacific The Pier Business Class Lounge
The lounge is a delight after a year-long renovation, with a home away from home style. It has bar, noodle restaurant, showers and a business centre for travellers stopping over in Hong Kong. The brand new Cathay Pacific the Pier Business Class lounge at Hong Kong is located right at the end of the long 'arm' of the terminal at Hong Kong. It is ...read more.

Cathay Pacific The Wing First Class Lounge
The Wing Cathay Pacific First Class lounge Hong Kong is one of the world's best airport lounges, bar none. It is really very good indeed. It is also often very busy too, and at these times - often late at night - quality is lost as the lounge descends into a heaving mass of passengers. However the Cathay Pacific First Class Wing lounge, is actually ...read more.

Cathay Pacific The Bridge Lounge
The new kid on the block in terms of airline lounge at Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Cathay Pacific Bridge Lounge is very much the flagship feature lounge at Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok airport, at least in daytime. The lounge is vast - spread over a giant 27,500 square feet - however during the evening it turns into just a long rather dull corridor. It's great i ...read more.

Cathay Pacific G16 Lounge
The G16 lounge is located in the North concourse, right by Gate 16, and if it looks a bit old, that's because it is, having a past life at the former Dragonair lounge, which has now been taken over by Cathay Pacific. It is a "one lounge" complex, which is a simple way of saying it does not have a separate First Class section, and with food simi ...read more.

Cathay Pacific The Cabin Lounge
Described by Cathay Pacific as "contemporary, refreshing and dynamic", it is a move onwards from the design of the original Pier lounge, which is now looking a bit careworn. Indeed The Cabin features a cutting edge design so much on the edge of ultra-modern it could also be called achingly trendy. For all its aspirations, the new lounge is separated int ...read more.

Cathay Pacific The Wing Business Class
For many passengers the Cathay Pacific The Wing Hong Kong Lounge is the main Cathay Pacific lounge at its hub in Hong Kong. Emirates Lounge
The Emirates Lounge at Hong Kong airport is large and comfortable, but it hasn't been revamped like other Emirates lounges, and so still has elements of the old 'Dubai Chic' style. The lounge is full of gold, and tan leather armchairs. The Emirates Hong Kong Lounge is at the end of the pier by gate 40. Take the train - or walk - down t ...read more.

Plaza Premium arrivals lounge Lounge
One of three Plaza Premium lounges at Hong Kong airport, the Plaza Premium arrivals lounge HKG is the smallest of the three, but airside, before security, and is designed as an arrivals lounge with a vast number of showers, but only limited dining facilities. Plaza Premium West Lounge
The Gate 40 Plaza Premium Lounge Hong Kong West Hall is definitely the Hong Kong pay-in lounge of choice at Hong Kong Airport, out of the three Plaza lounge airside at Hong Kong. It has by far the best view, a vastly better food choice, two bars, three main seating areas, and it's absolutely brand new. The only downside is that large parts of the lounge ...read more.

Qantas Qantasclub lounge
The new Qantas Hong Kong Lounge is brand new with great facilities, excellent food, and a top notch bar. It is also the British Airways Hong Kong Lounge, although there is no BA branding, nor staff, and indeed most facilities in the lounge shut up shop firmly at 8pm when the sole Qantas flight to Sydney leaves, leaving the Hong Kong BA lounge feeling a bit ...read more.

Singapore Airlines Lounge
The Singapore Airlines new Silver Kris Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (or HKIA, Chek Lap Kok airport) is a bit hidden away - you almost get the impression that SIA aren't particularly fussed about the Hong Kong lounge, which seems odd as the lounge was rebuilt in 2009, and is clean, quiet, dark, and a tiny bit soulless. The Singapore Airlines ...read more.

Thai Airways Business and First Lounge
The Hong Kong Thai Airways lounge is actually pretty good, and one of the best on Thai Airways International network. It has to be - by the time you've got to the far end of the long pier at Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok airport, you£'ll need somewhere for a bit of a rest. The lounge is at the end of the long pier, upstairs, and at the other side of the ...read more.

Travelers Lounge East
The Traveler's Tavern lounge East by Gate 1 is the flagship lounge of the Plaza brand, and as such it is a 15,000 square feet leviathan with a seating capacity of 250 people. Alas, it's also decorated in what could charitably be described as 1990s hotel lobby style, and lacks any real flourishes: for that, you need access to the Cathay lounges. ...read more.

United Airlines United Club Lounge
The United Airlines Hong Kong United Club is either one of the best on the United network, or the worst lounge at Hong Kong, depending on your athetic bent. It's better than the usual United offerings, but United lounges are just very poor compared to what other airlines offer. It is a pretty good lounge, although by the time you get to the far end o ...read more.

Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Lounge
The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Hong Kong is pretty good, but starting to look a little dated, with decor that doesn't quite fit with the rest of the Virgin Clubhouse brand: it is definitely 'old school' Virgin, and was opened in 2004, to launch the new flights to Australia, and designed by ...read more.
