Hong Kong Airlines Bauhinia Hong Kong Lounge

Are you sure you want the Club Bauhinia? Hong Kong Airlines operates two lounges at it's Hong Kong hub.

The old lounge, Club Autus, is a business class lounge at the far end of the Pier. The new lounge, Club Bauhinia is the new upmarket lounge, in the middle of the pier. Both offer paid access, and access to Frequent Flyers, however Club Bauhinia has a more streamlined appearance and better food. Hong Kong Airlines Club Bauhinia is a great, if small, lounge halfway along the spine of Hong Kong airport. There is a buffet with local Hong Kong food, decent seats, showers, wifi, and a view of the airport apron. To find the lounge, head down the stairs, and past the general waiting room (which tends to be a backpackers sleeping haunt). The Hong Kong Airlines Business Class lounge is much larger than it at first appears, and is spacious with warm and earthy brown colours. It seats 120, and has a separate dining area and curving seating area, all surrounded by photos of the harbour in Hong Kong.

There is also a large red weighing scale in the middle of the lounge. It is one of the last five in existence, and still works. Plus, there is a quiet zone with four chaise longue chairs for a short nap.

Food

Food is OK in the Hong Kong Airlines Club Bauhinia, but is mainly Hong Kong dishes, with dim sum, egg puffs, minced dace fish, rice noodle with wonton, and a cha chaan teng tea restaurant-style traditional breakfast set. You can order noodles, and they are brought to your seat.

Bar

Alas, drinking options aren't great in the lounge. There are soft drinks, plus a couple of bottles of wine and some spirits. Beer is in the fridge.

Business Facilities

There are eight Apple Mac computers in the Hong Kong Airlines Business Class lounge, with two sets of four spread around. There is also a magazine and a newspaper rack.

Bathrooms

There are showers in the lounge.
