The brand new Auckland Strata Lounge is a pretty standard generic airport pay per used lounge. It stands on the old site of the Air New Zealand lounge, and indeed, the Emirates lounge, and was previously known as the Emperor lounge.
You can pay for entry, and the lounge is also used by international airlines that don't have their own lounge. It is the Malaysia Airlines lounge Auckland for example,.
The lounge has some new furnishings, and some new furniture, and it's typically pretty empty, allowing you to admire that eye-popping carpet.
There's a small children's room at the back.
Food
There is food in the lounge, but not much. Light meals and snacks are all that is available, with all food Halal-certified.
At breakfast time there is a hot breakfast, with bacon and sausages.
Then at lunchtime there is salad and some hot food.
Bar
Of course the main point of buying entry is always the bar. Your entry includes unlimited free booze: quite a bargain considering the price of the main bar in the departure hall.
It is fully stocked with some excellent Kiwi wines, plus some run of the mill spirits on the bar top.
Bathrooms
In the lounge. There are also two showers: towels available at reception.
Business Facilities
There are three computers which are fairly good and new with a lightning fast internet connection.
Computers are in a large meeting room, which is rarely used.
The Wifi is pretty nifty too.
Most seats have power sockets, but they are of the New Zealand/Australian type: not international.

The Auckland airport Strata Lounge is the main pay in lounge - just pay $55NZD on the door.
Priority Pass, LoungeKey and DragonPass members also gain access.
It is also now the main Virgin Australia lounge for Business class passengers of Virgin Australia, China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Hainan Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Samoa Airways, Sichuan Airlines and Tianjin Airlines.
Virgin Australia Velocity Gold and Platinum members get access before Virgin Australia flights.
