Plaza Premium Vancouver Transborder Lounge

The Transborder Plaza Premium Lounge is the main pay-per-use lounge at Vancouver Airport in the USA flights area.

The Plaza premium lounge Vancouver Transborder is a large lounge (3,000 sq ft) with lots of natural light streaming through the large floor to ceiling windows, and three main seating areas. Down this corridor are a couple of phone cubicles and the toilets.

Directly opposite receptions is a rather unwelcoming rack of seats with annoying uncomfortable wooden arms and glass topped tables.

To the left of reception in the Plaza premium lounge Vancouver Transborder is the main food and bar area, and then another smaller room, which is by far the best area to sit. Here there is also a large high bar area where you can sit - on a wobbly bar stool - and eat. Finally around the corner from here is a small private corridor with some cozy seating, and two sleeping rooms (called the Nap room), with very comfortable armchairs.

Food

There is plenty of hot food, with three large round metal tourines with stew (chicken or beef) pasta, and rice. In the fridge are packets of sandwiches, and a pretty good salad mix, plus the usual carrots and celery plus ranch dip typical of American lounges.

On the shelf are packets of noodles which you can heat with hot water from the coffee machine.

There are also four jars with nuts and nibbles, biscuits in the tin, and a bowl of fruit.

Bar

The wine selection is not as good as you may hope, with just one bottle of white in a bucket, and one mediocre red on the shelf beside it.

Spirits are good with ten bottles of everything from Canadian Club (did you expect anything else) Bacardi Black and Ballantines. Gin is Gordons, Vodka is Smirnoff.

Beer is in the fridge, with 8 types all in cans, including Canadian.

The coffee machine is worthy of note: it makes a very good latte, cappuccino or espresso.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms are in the lounge, and are fairly dull. There is one shower.

Business Facilities

There are decent business facilities in the Vancouver Transborder Plaza Premium Lounge, with two computers in small work cubicals, and three more outside. There is free wireless internet in the lounge, and a printer.

There are four TVs in the lounge, which are typically on local news channels.

Access

You can buy entry for $51USD for 3 hours at Plaza Premium.
