Air Canada Vancouver Lounge Domestic

The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge at Vancouver Domestic is a large, bright lounge with a great view of the gates and the tarmac. It is quite large - seating 170 people - and it needs all that space when the main bulk of the flights Eastwards depart. At times it really can get very busy.

The lounge needs a bit of updating and is showing some signs of wear due to all the traffic it gets, but it is welcome, particularly as you can access it on arrival on flights from the East, and freshen up, before heading into the city.

The main part of the lounge is separated into two areas thanks to the use of a partition, which makes the lounge feel a bit more private. However, it is clear the lounge is basically one large waiting room.

The main seats are hard, wooden, and haven't been changed in 20 years: it is somewhat less premium than you might expect in a premium lounge, particularly as the international lounge has just been upgraded with better seats.

The dining area is nice though, with a large number of tables, including a counter overlooking the tarmac with high-top chairs.

Right at the back of the lounge was a business centre, along with more leather seats overlooking the view and the mountains.

Food

The food is in the middle of the Air Canada Vancouver Lounge, with a large spread on an island.

Breakfast is usually fruit, breads, toast, cereals. Don't miss the oatmeal in the tub.

Lunch offers choice of two types of soup, bread and two types of tasty salads, olives, pickles, sandwiches, and a variety of really tasty biscuits.

There are snacks (chips, pretzels, etc) available all day.

A major problem with the lounge though is that empty plates, and indeed empty bowls by the food area are rarely cleared; maybe once and hour at best.

Bar

The bar opens on the dot of 11am in the Air Canada Vancouver Lounge Domestic.

There are serve yourself beer taps, with Canadian and Coors.

In the fridge is wine and beer in cans.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms and showers are in the lounge.

They aren't very nice, and you have to ask at reception for a towel.

Business Facilities

The business centre has some booths where you can work in private, including three computers.

There is a printer and scanner.

Free wired & wireless internet access is available throughout the lounge.

The lounge has a mobile phone charging system, where you leave your phone to charge.
