Las Vegas Airport, known technically as McCarran International Airport is a large international airport, just a mile (1km) south of the main Las Vegas Strip. It is named after the late U.S. Senator Pat McCarran. It handles over 50 million passengers a year, with the top international destination being London, with BA and Virgin Atlantic vieing with Air Canada for the top spot of international destinations. Because of it's size, the route after check in can seem a bit of a mess, as you head to the two terminals at McCarran and 5 concourses with a total of 92 gates.

Terminal 1 is the original terminal from the early 1960s. Terminal 1 has four concourses, but it is difficult to move between then as they are only connected to a central pre-security area. The main areas are the A and B Gates buildings, which are Y-shaped concourses with circular ends. There is also the small C gates to the south, and the vast remote D gates.

Almost a terminal in itself is the vast Terminal 1 satellite D Gates concourse, which is a mere 20 years old. It is remote and can only be accessed by the Blue Line tram. It contains all the major lounges, the American Express Centurion lounge, the United Club, and the Club at LAS. Terminal 3 is totally separate, and mostly handles international flights, but also some lesser domestic routes. The terminal has 14 gates, half of which are used for international. The Red Line of the tram system links Terminal 3 with the D Gates of Terminal 1. Terminal 2 has been demolished. Las Vegas McCarran airport has three separate airside tram lines. The Green line, connects Terminal 1 with C Gates, Blue line to the remote satellite D Gates, and the

Red line, connecting Terminal 3 with D Gates at Terminal 1.

You can move airside, after security, between Terminal 3 and Terminal 1 D gates, but signage is poor (walk upstairs to the tram in Terminal 3).

Landside, there is a a complimentary shuttle service runs between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 every 15 to 20 minutes.

Corcoran's Irish Pub

You have to really want to find the Irish pub at Las Vegas Airport to head here. It is quite remote and hard to find at the end of the C gates.
