United Airlines Int G San Francisco Lounge
The old First Class lounge at SFO International now welcomes United Club members and any Star Alliance Gold economy passengers departing on international flights.
Alas this is a faded jewel which has been hastily enhanced to a United Club lounge: gone are the premium food and alcohol selection, shower suites, and slumber room.
Instead, all you're left with is a large impressive lounge, without many facilities. However, the lounge is mainly used by passengers in economy: passengers in Business Class international can use the new SFO Polaris lounge.
San Francisco United Airlines Int G lounge review
The San Francisco United Airlines International Terminal G Concourse Unitedclub Lounge shows off all it's faded glory as soon as you enter. It is clear this was once the crown jewel in United's lounge network. No longer: gone is much of the fancy décor with Asian inspired artwork reflecting the ultra long haul destinations served by United from San Francisco.
Never the less, the new-ish pale leather armchairs and light bright windows with recessed lighting gives the basement a comfortable atmosphere, once you enter from upstairs and go down the stairs.
There are large windows, equipped with wooden blinds, which give close-up views of the wide body aircraft parked outside heading out for the long haul over the Pacific.
The lounge offers comfortable seating, complimentary Wi-Fi, snacks and salads, soft drinks, espresso, and a complimentary selection of house alcoholic beverages.
Food
There is very little complementary food in the lounge, with a small dining area right at the far end of the lounge. There are basic sandwiches, plus salads and basic carrots or celery with dipping sauces, plus cubes of cheese. There are three large bowls with bananas and apples, and a rack of three drawers with lots of biscuits.
Bar
There is a small pop up bar, with basic house wines and beers being free of charge.Other spirits are nicer wines are sold at usual airport prices.
Business Facilities
There is one high workbench where you can plug in your laptop.Free wifi.
