United Airlines Terminal 3 Concourse E San Francisco Lounge

As one of the newest United lounges at San Francisco, and boasting the latest furniture, the San Francisco United Airlines Terminal 3 Concourse E lounge should be a delight.

Alas, it is often painfully busy, with seating crammed together. There is great bar, fantastic views, decent food, and the furniture doesn't feel worn out like the rest of the United lounges, but it remains a disappointment.

San Francisco United Airlines Terminal 3 Concourse E lounge review

As you walk in, straight off the main drag of the new Terminal 3, the United Airlines Concourse E San Francisco Lounge looks like a winner; it is certainly highly visible in bright blue.

Alas, as soon as you are through the door, the wall of people hit you, so much so it can be hard to see the furniture.

As you enter there is one main room of seats - and that's all there are, seats! At the far end, blocking the view from the window is the bar.

Next to the bar is a compact dining area with six seats.

Turn left here, and there is a smaller side room, with additional seating and a buffet, which is more sparsely furnished and has better views.

There is just over 6,000 square feet to play with, and seating for 150 passengers, which indicates just how crammed it is. Indeed, it seems like there was a plan to cram in as many seats as possible, with just banks of seats facing each other. There is no privacy.

At least the design is fresh, with power and USB ports at every seat, as well as individual side tables for cocktails.

Food

There is just the standard United fare at this lounge, with basic sandwiches, biscuits, and a small salad bar.

Bar

It's the bar which makes this lounge.

Basic house beer and simple wines are complimentary at the bar; all other drinks, like fairly average spirits, come with a charge.

Business Facilities

Free wifi.

Bathrooms

In lounge, and check out the airplane window shaped mirrors.
