The Club at LAS Las Vegas Lounge

The Club at LAS Las Vegas Lounge at the D gates is either a major disappointment, or just an average pay-in lounge and a way to escape the slot machines outside the door. It lacks the wow factor, despite a recent move which tripled the size of the lounge.

The new 7,000-square-foot lounge has seating for 149 travellers and features a new bar area, a dining room, and a snooze area, plus a separate room for Virgin Atlantic passengers.

NEWS: The brand new The Club at LAS Las Vegas Lounge is now open. It is slightly larger than the old lounge, as includes a separate room for Virgin Atlantic customers.

Las Vegas The Club at LAS lounge review

The Club at LAS Las Vegas Lounge at the D gates of terminal 1 is a small, fairly standard, pay in lounge. It is pretty new, having moved to a new location in the summer of 2019.

Which makes it all the more odd that the lounge is designed in the manner of an airport authority lounge of 20 years ago, with half height walls hemming in a seat which is crammed into the space, a small bar, and far too few dining tables. Even the bathrooms seem old.

To find the lounge, head to the centre of the remote satellite D gates terminal, and then down to the right, between Tumi and Brooks Brothers, near gate 33. The lounge is hidden on the corner. There is a large wide entrance reception, but that's about it for space.

You head down a small corridor, with bathrooms on the right, and a closed off door to the left, marked Virgin Atlantic only, If only this room was open during the day - rather than for the three hours of Virgin flights - it would be a much more usable lounge. Further down is another room with a snooze area.

Then you enter the main part of the lounge. Dining is on the right, with half a dozen tables, and the refectory at the far end. If instead you turn left, there are some closed in private seats with a small extendable shelf - rather like Cathay Pacific's Solus Chair - and then around the curve of the lounge there is a shelf with bar stools overlooking the windows, and inside this high walls with chairs literally crammed into every available space. It isn't a very comfortable place to sit.

Finally at the far end is the bar area, which is typically rammed, You can sit at the bar if you choose, but people tend to yell over you for drinks. There is also a small seating area in the bar.

Food

Food is better than you might expect, with some quite decent hot food, and some nice burgers and sandwiches.

The Club at LAS Lounge also has hot soup, and there is an OK salad bar.

On the other side of the dining area there is a small table with sweet, lollies, or what Americans call candy. It's basically jars of boiled sweets.

Bar

The Club at LAS Las Vegas Lounge has a better bar than you might expect, and surprisingly pretty much everything is complementary.

The bar is fully staffed, with a menu of cocktails on a little stand by the bar.

The wine is pretty pedestrian, but the beer selection is very good.

Don't miss the famous "hydration station" in the dining area, with fruit and herb-infused waters.

Business Facilities

There is one PC, in the most ludicrous position - right on the self by the windows, at the place where everyone walks in.

It isn't a very good place to work.

Next to it is a wifi connected printer.

There is Free wifi, although you could probably just connect to the Las Vegas airport supply.

Newspaper rack by the entrance, with just a couple of papers and magazines.

TV in the bar.

Bathrooms

In lounge, with one shower. Towels are provided at reception.

Access

The Club at LAS is available to Priority Pass members, and for anyone on any airline willing to pay the $40 fee for a day pass.

Remember there is a second lounge operated by the same company, Airport Lounge Development, in Terminal 3 across from gate E2. It's pretty similar, and quite a trek from the D gates, but you can get there airside without going through security again.
