Palma de Mallorca Airport Guide
Make no mistake though, it is busy. During the three months of the summer, it becomes one of the busiest airports in Europe, with over 30 million passengers a year passing through the doors. It is also the hub of Spanish carrier Air Europa, with flights to most of Europe. Palma de Mallorca Airport, or Aeroport de Son Sant Joan as the islander's know it, occupies a vast U shaped building, or terminal or Module A, which was opened in 1997. The airport now consists of four terminals or modules, but you can walk between them. There is free Wifi internet throughout the terminal. Palma de Mallorca Airport International Module ALocated in the north section, Module A is for non-Schengen destinations requiring passport control, including the UK and Ireland. It has 28 gates, but only 8 airbridges - hence, you are likely to be on a bus to your aircraft. Manically busy in the summer, Module A is closed in the winter.Palma de Mallorca Airport International Module CModule C is the main part of the terminal - it also has the longest walk from security control. It is open year round, and the largest of the Modules with 33 gates and 9 airbridges. It is used mainly by Condor and Air Berlin to Schengen destinations.
