Qatar Airways Singapore Lounge
Qatar Airways describes the new Qatar Airways Singapore Lounge as more of a boutique hotel or private club. And they might be right.
While quite small - and we're talking medium small, not cupboard - it is fully equipped with a bar, restaurant, great showers, and two smallish lounging type areas, giving Qatar Airways Business Class passengers a sophisticated environment with contemporary Arabic design elements.
The unique feature pf the Singapore Qatar Airways lounge is the a la carte dining room with an extensive menu with both western and Arabic-influenced dishes.
Access is tightly restricted to just Business Class passengers, and there is no access if you are a top-tier frequent flyer, which makes it seem more exclusive.
NEWS: Qatar Airways has opened its new Premium Lounge at Singapore Changi Airport.
It features a Bistro, Martini Bar, and Brasserie. There are also showers and plenty of seating.

Singapore Qatar Airways lounge review
The new Qatar Airways Singapore Lounge is a delight, and is one of the newest lounges on the oneworld block at Singapore. Even if you only nip in for few minutes between BA or Qantas flights, it is worth popping in just for a look at the design and the bar.
The Singapore Qatar Airways lounge certainly narrows the gap between business and first class lounges, and it is quite unexpected, being tucked away at the end of the quite unreguarded Terminal 1, up the stairs beside the Emirates and Plaza lounges, and then at the end of the corridor.
There is a large entrance hall, which leads into the main room of the new Qatar Airways Singapore lounge, which is over 700 square metres is size, and is designed to accommodate a mere 85 passengers: no wonder it is Business Class only.
As soon as you enter the lounge, it is clear this is no ordinary Business Class lounge. The grand entrance has Qatar Airways' signature "Marhaba" engraved sandstone wall with a luxurious display of fresh white orchids.
A botanical patterned wall inspired by Singapore's affinity to horticulture and greenery is also added for a local touch.
Once inside the lounge, it features seven different seating areas including the Principal Lounge, Quiet Pods, Garden Bistro, High Seating, Martini Bar, Brasserie and Private Lounge no less, although to be frank, it is just and L shaped lounge with different areas.
You walk in through the Principal Lounge, which is remarkably pleasant, having large comfy sofas, low coffee tables, and a couple of PCs at the end of the room. Qatar Airways describes the lounge as being of a boutique hotel style, and that is reflected in the decor here which is almost a home from home style. On the other side of this area are the Quiet Pods. Rather Cathay Pacfic's Solo chair, these seats let you sit in privacy and eat, drink, or sit on your laptop. The five Quiet Pods, which offer a cozy, semi-private space equipped with sound proofing, reading lights, a coat hanger and universal charging points.
Next up is the bar area, which is the centrepiece of the lounge, around which are six chairs and a TV.
Both behind the bar, and in a separate room behind it, is the dining room, which has a full kitchen for freshly-prepared a la carte food orders on demand, on top of an existing buffet spread offering an international menu featuring Arabic-influenced dishes.
The small Garden Bistro (with a green garden wall) has just 12 seats, while the Brasserie next door has 16 seats. In effect they are the same dining areas, but each with their own feel.
Finally at the end is a smaller lounge, with custom furniture pieces that offer both style and comfort to each passenger. This includes a carefully designed sideboard, strategically placed next to the seats, and includes a lamp, universal plug point, wireless charger and a compartment suitable for storing handbags and personal belongings.
Food
It is for the food that many passengers beat a path to this lounge, and the dining is extensive and good.
There is a menu you can access via QR code, and it contains dishes that are really a subset of the menu in the main Doha lounge. There is everything from steak cooked to order, to a local fish dish, pasta, and several Arabic dishes.
However there is also a self serve buffet and this is equally good, with a decent breakfast set up including many types of bread, fruit, ham and cheese and yoghurt. In the evening there is a good mix of meze, and small plates to try.
Bar
The bar in the Qatar Airways Singapore Lounge is of course the centrepiece, and it is well worth while taking a seat at the bar.
Indeed the Martini bar which is likely to get the most attention for most passengers. It is a large circular bar with just six seats around it, and two types of Champagne available. There is also a dedicated mixologist is available , offering cocktail (and non-alcoholic mocktails), plus a large selection of wines.
Business Facilities
There is also a small business centre, with two computers, and a printer. Alas it's at the end of the main room, and neither quiet nor private.
There is also free wifi in the lounge, which is quite fast.
There are no longer any magazines.
Bathrooms
There are five shower suites with amenities and towels available. These are amazingly swish, with lots of marble. They are also quite large, which is a rarity for an airport lounge.
Access
The Qatar Airways Singapore lounge is open daily from 0700 to 1045. It then reopens at 1800 until 0200. However, Qatar operates just three flights a day from Singapore.
In line Qatar's lounge access policies worldwide, but at odds with oneworld, there is access at Qatar Airways' Singapore lounge just to business class and first class passengers of Qatar and other Oneworld member airlines. In economy, even with oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status there is no access.
