The Singapore Changi Airport Ambassador Lounge is the general pay-per-use lounge at Singapore. It isn't too bad - and it is certainly better than the SATS Lounge, although both of these have windows which the Krisflyer Gold lounge doesn't have, but it does have better food. None of these are a patch on the SilverKris lounge, which has a much better bar. Note that this is not the Singapore Airport Ambassador Hotel. Paying for this, does not give you access to the other, and vice versa. There is also another Ambassador lounge in Terminal 3, which is marginally better.

In effect you will end up at the Singapore Ambassador Transit Lounge Terminal 2 if you are a Priority Pass customer, or you just want to pay for entry to a lounge during a stopover for a shower and a beer.

The lounge can get very crowded. Seats are hard and uncomfortable. Thankfully there are windows, but even so it seems claustrophobic. Never the less it can be a haven if you have a stop over here for several hours.

Food

Food is basic but ok. If you know the usual type of food at Singapore airport, you will know what you are getting. There are lots of packets of sandwiches - there are three types, all wrapped up tight in cling film. There is a small heated cabinet with some baked pastries in it, including miniature croissants and Danish pastries. There is also a bucket of soup.

Bar

The Bar is just about alright, but not that good. There is one type of white and red, but there is no champagne.

There are a few bottles of spirits pf a generic type, mini pots of water, and a fridge with some fruit juice, including a Bloody Mary mix.

Bathrooms

There are showers - often with long queues. Ask at reception for a towel: they will check if you have paid to use the showers.

Business Facilities

There is a small business centre with several fast computers. There is also a meeting room. The lounge has free WiFi.

There is a Magazine rack in the centre of the lounge: however other than the Straits Times there isn't a lot.

Access

The lounge is open 24 hours a day, and has a sliding scale of payment for access. It is S$30.00 for 5 hours, or you can pay S$30.00 for a slumberette room, and also gain access to the lounge for 3 hours. Mind you, you also have to pay S$8.00 for a shower.
