Korean Airlines Los Angeles Lounge
Located on the fifth floor in the Tom Bradley International Terminal of the Los Angeles Airport, the new lounge was designed by Gensler, a global integrated architecture and design firm which has contributed many innovative design projects for airport facilities around the world, including the Air New Zealand and Star Alliance lounge in the very same terminal.
Therefore it's a shame that the Korean Airlines Los Angeles Lounge endup up... well, just very bland.
If you look at the amazing Star Alliance lounge, it can almost be a poor option to end up here.
However, it has a bar, decent food, showers, and takes priority pass, in effect becoming the main pay-in lounge at LAX international in TBIT.
Los Angeles Korean Air lounge review
Korean Air brand new Business Class (Prestige) and First Class Lounge at Los Angeles' TBIT Terminal is large, comfortable, and a bit dull. It's easy to find, up on the main balcony of TBIT. Just take the lift up one floor.
The new 305 seat, 1,320 square-meter lounge is 68% larger and can accommodate 135 more passengers. However, when multiple A380s depart at the same time, the lounge can have a brief rush before everyone gets on board.
The new lounge was designed by Gensler, but to make it a little more Korean, Korean Air has furnished a drawing of the Changdeok Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site on the wall of the lounge entrance, allowing passengers from all around the world to experience Korea's before they get there.
The main highlight of the Los Angeles Korean Airlines Business Class lounge is the terrace overlooking the central atrium and shopping centre. However, unlike Emirates and the Star Alliance lounge who put power sockets and bar here, the only real feature is the view, taken on hard plastic chairs.
Food
The small buffet is in a small alcove on the 'inland' side of the balcony.Alas, it is limited to just some basic snacks, with fruit, veggies, chips, and instant noodles.
Bar
There is a small bar facing the terrace in the middle of the lounge. To call it basic would be an understatement. There is just one bottle of red and one of white wine, and three spirits.
Business Facilities
Free wifi.Bathrooms
In lounge. There are three small showers. Ask at reception for amenities and a towel.
Access
The KAL Lounge welcomes Priority Pass members between 11:00 - 17:00 daily, and then becomes Korean Airlines only.
