Hawaiian Airlines Plumeria Honolulu Lounge

The new lounge in Honolulu for Hawaiian Airlines is the Plumeria Lounge, named after the iconic lei flower.

It is designed for business class passengers, guests a new lounge in Honolulu: the Plumeria Lounge is a step above the airline's Premier Clubs, but a few rungs below most other airlines even members clubs.

Pretty basic, there is packaged food and a simple bar.

Honolulu Hawaiian Airlines Plumeria lounge review

Enter the Hawaiian Airlines Plumeria Honolulu Lounge, and it's like stepping back to the 1980s, which is odd, as the lounge is only a few years old.

Hawaiian design aspects seem to wrap this place in a tropical design from yesteryear, with wooden ceiling fans whirring away, and a colour palate of azure, yellow and green. And that's just the seat cushions. As you walk in you can see the whole space: there are lots of armchairs, without arms, but with multi coloured cushions. And there are hard upright dining chairs along one side of the lounge. While at the far end is a vast circular space, which is perfect if you came with 20 close friends.

Looking rather down at heal, the lounge also routinely operates at capacity and beyond, and finding a seat can be a challenge in itself. At peak times, Hawaiian Airlines cordons off a space for international business class passengers.

Food

The food selection consists of snacks, instant noodles, and mini-sandwiches.

Food is on a pretty basic refectory counter, with pastries from La Tour Café in a small wooden cabinet.

Bar

Drinks are a paltry offering for a premium lounge.

Bottles of red and white wine are on the worktop.

There is also craft beer by Maui Brewing Co.

Business Facilities

There is no real set workspace for Business travellers.

Business travellers can make use of free wireless Internet to remain connected with the office, paired with a few mains power sockets, and even the occasional USB power outlets.
