Virgin Atlantic Arrivals London Heathrow Lounge

The Virgin Revivals Lounge is one of those rare breeds of airline lounges: one you can visit after your flight. Designed to solve the problem that many flights arrive in the early hours - 5 or 6am - and hotels generally won't let you check in until at least 1pm, the Virgin Atlantic Arrivals London Heathrow Lounge fills the gap, with a hot breakfast, a pleasant place to recover, plus showers and even spa treatments.

However you can only access the arrivals lounge if you arrived on Virgin Atlantic or Delta Air Lines in Business Class (or Upper Class as Virgin call it) or with the right frequent flyer card on VS or DL.

However, compared to the pre-flight Clubhouse, the arrivals lounge is tiny. It was jsut big enough for all the Virgin flights, but now Delta have closed their own lounge and use the Virgin lounge too, it is only just big enough for the post flight crowd that frequents it to freshen up and grab some food before continuing on the tube or car.

NEWS: The Delta Arrivals Lounge London Heathrow is now closed, and Deltaone passengers are now using the Virgin Atlantic Revivals LHR Lounge

London Heathrow Virgin Atlantic Arrivals lounge review

The Virgin Atlantic Arrivals London Heathrow Lounge is well worth visiting, even if you are just heading home, but it is exceptionally welcome if you have a few hours to kick your heels, having la carte dining, newspapers and wifi, shower suites, and even a day spa.

Finding the London Heathrow Virgin Atlantic Arrivals lounge can be a bit of a faff. After passport control and exiting via the arrivals duty free, head across the arrivals area, to the lifts to the car park. Take these, or the stairs, upwards, and head towards the welcoming white glass doors.

The desk will ask if you want to head straight to a shower - in which case, you need to head down the corridor, to your allocated number, or for food, in which case head right to the main room. The reception desk can stow your bags behind reception.

The Virgin Revivals looks a little like a coffee shop in Debenhams, but has a small bar at the end, scattered dining tables and a few soafas in the middle of the room.

There are windows, ish, but the view is quite unremarkable. However the area beside the bar can be quite busy, so it is often best to head to the far end of the lounge.

Food

Of course, as you'd expect, there is a great full English breakfast. Indeed, quite a lot and variety of hot food, with the smoked salmon Egg Royale or Eggs Benedict very good.

There is a la carte dining, with menus at every table.

While there is also buffet dining, this is pretty basic, and few people will eat from there, however i has some bagels, fruits, yoghurts and cereal, pastries.

Drinks

Barista-made coffee is of course available and can be brought to your table.

No alcohol, alas, but there are plenty of smoothies and juices.

There is a water cooler with pomegranate and elderflower sparkling water.

Business Facilities

There is a very small business centre, with just one PC, but space to sit at a desk.

Plenty of power sockets in the walls though, and very good wifi.

Decent newspaper rack, with most of the UK daily papers, and some magazines.

Virgin Atlantic Arrivals London Heathrow Lounge Showers and Bathrooms

There are dozens of showers, which means most of the time you can just walk up and into one. They have amenities, and indeed also a nifty feature with a radio playing Radio 2 or 4 - set by a silver panel on the wall.

There is also a little cupboard next to the main door where you can hang your suit to be pressed.

Virgin Atlantic Arrivals London Heathrow Lounge Spa

Our business class tickets allowed us one complimentary spa treatment each in the Revivals Lounge but we opted for showers and food instead!

The options include an express facial, a foot and scalp massage, a head massage or a file and buff (hands or feet). All are 15 minutes in duration.

Second and subsequent treatments are £16.

There are also a range of other, paid-only spa services such as a shave, arm or eyebrow waxing, manicures and pedicures.

Access

You can access the Virgin Atlantic Revivals Lounge if you arrive on Virgin Atlantic Upper Class (business class) passengers from any destination, plus Delta One (business class) passengers arriving into Heathrow.

Virgin Atlantic or Delta in economy can access if you are Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold or Delta SkyMiles Platinum and Diamond Medallion.

However only Virgin Australia Velocity Platinum frequent flyers are welcome - Gold members do not have access.

The lounge is open daily from 5:00am to 1:30pm, but the 1.30pm closing time is loosely applied, and you can stay around a little later.
