1432 Runway Club Leeds Bradford Lounge

The 1432 Runway Club. isn't very big. Indeed, for a lounge it is roughly the size of a large front room, with just over 34 seats. However, it is very much the elite of the elite in Leeds Bradford Airport, it may be considered the First Class lounge, if the White Rose Suite is for those slumming it in Business.

The main delight, and worth paying an extra fiver for, is the self serve bar with sparkling wine, decent spirits which are again self pour, and the excellent food. You can either order off the menus on the table, or take something from the buffet which is uprated from the White Rose lounge next door.

Leeds Bradford 1432 Runway Club lounge review

The Leeds Bradford 1432 Runway Club lounge is a lovely small area to wait for your flight, and well worth paying the extra five pounds for. It has two areas, an upper section with most of the seats and buffet, and a lower section with more seats and a wide screen TV.

Both sections have excellent views over the runway, and indeed the lower section has full length glass windows. The upper section has four round tables with high chairs, and this is quite a nice spot to enjoy pre-flight dining, as waiters bring food to your table.

There are no real checks on the door - you just walk in, before getting to the White Rose suite.

The buffet is on your left, and the wine fridge just beyond that.

Food

Food is cooked to order in the Leeds Bradford Airport 1432 Runway Club lounge. menus are on the tables, and generally have one set menu for Breakfast (until 11am) and then one after. Breakfast takes the form of bacon or sausage sandwiches, with toast and beans, plus croissants & pan au chocolat.

Lunch onwards meanwhile is beef, pulled pork or turkey sandwiches, pasta, or salad.

Or there is an excellent salad bar, with eight bowls of different types of salad, cheese and ham.

Don't miss the scones and the cakes either - they are very pleasant.

Bar

The bar in the 1432 Club is great. All self serve, there are drinks in the fridge, and a good selection too. You'll only find the Peroni in 1432, alond with premium soft drinks and mixers.

Wine is Selection of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Rose, Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon.

Beer is draught Stella Artois & Bud Light, plus a speciality local craft beer.

There is a small collection of spirits on a corner of the bar, including, and this is a classy touch, a Harrogate Gin, plus Slingsby, Slingsby Rhubarb and Beefeater Gin, Smirnoff Vodka, Bacardi White Rum, Captain Morgans Dark Rum, Famous Grouse Whiskey, Cognac Gautier VS Brandy & Baileys Irish Cream Selection of Britvic & Fevertree mixers

Bathrooms

There are toilets inside the lounge, and indeed shared between the 3 lounges in the complex, in the linking corridor. However, the nearest toiler is the single disabled toilet at the top of the ramp, and there can be quite a queue.

Business Facilities

There are newspapers available in the corridor area between the three lounges, but not the lounge itself, featuring The Yorkshire Post and newspapers from London.

There is also a small magazine rack in the lounge, with a few holiday brochures, but not much of interest.

There are no computers, but plenty of power sockets if you bring your own.

There is Wifi, and it is very fast. Alas the wifi comes from the airport's main supply, and needs registration including your flight number.

Access

You can pay on the door - it cost £35 for the Runway Club.

Or, there is free access for Business Class British Airways passengers, and those with Frequent Flyer access.

The White Rose Suite, also the Priority Pass lounge LBA and the LoungeKey lounge, is the mid-level lounge, as opposed to the first lounge you will come to, the Yorkshire Lounge, which is for bucket and spaders, while the 1432 Runway Club is the elite, First Class lounge (with waiter-led service and costs £5 extra over the White Rose).
