Club CIP Lounge Faro non Schengen
There are two airport lounges at Faro International Airport CIP Lounge.
One Schengen, and one non Schengen, which really just deals with flights to the UK. However, this is by far the busiest lounge.
There are some seating areas, although rather uncomfortable ones, a small buffet area, and a bar fridge.
There isn't much of a view either.
Faro Club Lounge CIP review
The Club CIP Lounge at Faro Airport gets a bit of a mixed wrap. When it is empty, it is genuinely a nice place to visit. However it can get busy, and then some, when the flights to the UK are due to depart. Mix in a BA with a Jet 2, and add in an Easyjet, and it can get to be a hectic place indeed.
The main part of the lounge is also rather sterile, for want of a better word. With little in the way of an outside view, an eye popping lino floor, and occasional wall prints that seem to have come straight from Ikea, all under an unusually linear slatted ceiling, it really doesn't have much in the way of an appealing atmosphere.
Add in chairs that seem to have come from a dentist waiting room, with variants on hard blue, with an occasional green, and glass screens that have pixelated patterns of sea horses, it resembles more of a hospital waiting room.
The only outside view, is of the inside of the terminal.
Food
There is food in the Club CIP Lounge Faro, in the buffet area with strange black tiled walls, again with a sea horse motif. All the food is under four plastic covers in the middle of the island bench.
However the bad news, is that there is very little Portuguese about it. Indeed, the best that can be said is that it is functional. You can get a ham baguette, or a tuna baguette.
For dessert there are orange madelene tarts, or fairy cakes.
A fourth cover has cold cuts of ham, and slices of processed cheese, along with slices of bread, and a label inviting you to make a ham or cheese sandwich. I kid you not, that's as good as it gets!
Bar
The bar is again a do it yourself affair in the Club CIP Lounge at Faro in the non Schengen area.
There is one fridge in the corner of the room, with cans of lemonade on the bottom, two shelves of juice, and finally at the top two types of Sagres beer in bottles.
And that's it: if this doesn't appeal there is a bar outside the lounge which might be better.
