Hamburg airport
Hamburg Airport, or Flughafen Hamburg in German, is a major international airport in Hamburg.
The city is the second-largest in Germany, and the large airport reflects that, being substantially bigger than say Berlin. The airport is now named after the former German chancellor Helmut Schmidt, and is only 8km noths of the city centre
Over 17 million passengers a year pass through the airport, almost all of them local, or with connections to the nearby Airbus plant. Few tourists travel through or transit the airport, and the only long haul route to speak of is Emirates to Dubai.
Hamburg has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, connected by the Airport Plaza which has a number of restaurants, and even a beer hall.

Brewgate Bar
Open: 1100-2300 Airside Terminal 1Global travel restaurateur Autogrill has a new restaurant concept in Hamburg Airport Terminal 1 named Brewgate Beer & Bites.
The small kiosk has runway views - has been designed with a "sports bar atmosphere that seamlessly blends contemporary allure with rustic charm". The broadcasting of live football matches is alas a feature.
Brewgate is right in the middle of the terminal, and offers typical German snacks and small meals.
However, it is most famous for it's beer. The airside venue specialises in local beer selections from St Pauli brewery ÜberQuell. There are plenty of brews on draft, and a great view of the terminal.
