Lufthansa Senator A-Plus A50 Schengen Frankfurt Lounge
The main inter-Europe lounge at Frankfurt for Lufthansa, the Senator Lounge in the Schengen Area is designed for Star Alliance Gold members flying inter-Europe. The second largest at the airport, the area is kitted out in Lufthansa's latest style, and is very similar to its 'cousin' upstairs, in the non-Schengen departure area, but it also boasts a spa!Frankfurt Lufthansa Senator A-Plus A50 Schengen lounge review
At 1,800 square meters the Lufthansa Senator A-Plus A50 Schengen Frankfurt Lounge it's big, and convenient too - right by the junction where the new A gates join.
Oddly, it is totally separate to the main Business Class lounge, divided by the Malzer and Coa cafes between them.
There is lots of natural light in the lounge, as you might expect:, with a 130 square metre glass facade which offers a great view of the airport and the new A-Plus extension. It also has lots of colours and materials to make the place seem natural and normal.
There is a vast open atrium In the centre of the lounge which lets light flood in too.
There are some relaxing recliners near this space. These leather day beds are however close to the door of the sealed-off smokers' room at the end of the Lufthansa Frankfurt Lounge.
Food
The Lufthansa Frankfurt Lounge has pretty good food, with the normal Senator selection. There is a large salad bar, including in the evenings sometimes warm food such as pizzas, chilli con carne, or chicken stew.Bar
The bar is the main draw in this lounge. It is called the City Lights Bar, and to ram home that fact, it has its named spelled out in three feet high letters to create an eye-catching room divider. There are the usual beers - such as Becks - and a couple of wines. But the bartender is happy to mix your cocktails for you too.Bathrooms
The bathrooms in the Senator lounge are good. There are ten shower rooms, but no real baths: they are upstairs. There are also two spa rooms and a range of treatments including massages, facials and other beauty treatments.Business Facilities
There is a large newspaper rack, next to which are four plain plastic chairs under a huge picture of a Lufthansa engine: subtle it is not. Alas it has the usual selection of German and international newspapers, with a good US selection but no English ones. There are work desks and phones, free wifi, and a TV area.Video: Lufthansa Senator A50 Schengen
