Extime Paris CDG Lounge

The Extime Paris CDG Lounge is a bit of a conundrum. Both a pay in lounge, and an airline lounge. It isn't run by airlines, but many airlines use it.

NEWS: The Extime Paris CDG Lounge is temporarily being used by British Airways, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Finnair, while the terminal with their current existing lounges is being renovated. The lounge is actually better than many airlines home lounges, with lots of space, bright light and clean. Food and in particularly the bar are fairly bland.

The Extime Lounge is found just past the duty free area, post security.

After going through reception, the lounge is a series of separate rooms.

You start off in a small sitting area, which is generally quiet. You then walk through the main buffet area, and then the last room with great views of the runway, however the centre of this room is divided up with high room dividers with a strange latticework design.

In generally the lounge is white, very white, with lots of bright white marble, with mirrors and white walls adding to the monochrome colour scheme.

Furniture is a mixture of armchairs bench seats, and high backed solo chairs, with matching small circular tables.

However, nowhere in the lounge are there any real dining chairs of tables. Dotted around on the room dividers are glass bowls of plastic orchids, which rather lowers the tone.

Food

There is hot food, but it's not very remarkable.

In the morning you can get a full cooked English, with scrambled eggs, mushrooms and baked beans.

At lunch time there are more interesting options, including a great croque monsieur, quiche and pasta with cheese sauce.

The salad bar is OK, but quite minimalist, with half a dozen bowls of greens and olives, plus some processed cheese and cold cuts of ham.

Don't miss the crepes with a multitude of toppings for dessert.

Bar

The bar is a major disappointment. Because there isn't one.

Instead, there is a small counter, with an ice bucket with a bottle of white and a bottle of sparkling.

There are six bottles of spirits, including Bombay Sapphire.

A solitary, and sad, bottle of red wine completes the rather miserable collection.

Bottles of Heineken are in the fridge, along with Orangina - the perfect base for a Gin Gia cocktail.

There is an Egro bean to cup coffee machine which produces great coffee.

Business Facilities

In the middle of the lounge, along one wall there working area with five seats, which is the only place you can work at a laptop without hunching over a small low table.

There are plenty of power sockets with one at every seat with USB and European round pin sockets. However, there are no international sockets.

You can read magazines in the lounge - but there is an extra charge of 20 euro to do this!

Bathrooms

In lounge.

Showers available.

Access

Business Class passengers on American Airlines, British Airways, El Al, Finnair, Royal Air Maroc, and Royal Jordanian all gain access. Frequent Flyer cards with status are often, but not always, recognised. However, if you have unusual accreditation, it is often worthwhile getting an invite card at check in, if they are offered.

You can also pay for access but can't book in advance. The price is €65 for three hours, which is quite expensive.
