Emirates Paris CDG Lounge

The Emirates Lounge Paris is a classic outstation Emirates lounge, with a large dining area, comfortable seats, a small buffet, showers, and a walk up bar. Far smaller than the London lounges, it cab get packed when the three daily A380s leave for Dubai.

Paris CDG Emirates lounge review

The new Emirates lounge Paris CDG is in effect on large rectangular room, with racks of 2+2 seating areas. It's got the generic Emirates branding, with wooden panels on the wall, the stone tiles behind the buffet and the classic Rolex five world clocks on the wall near the door, plus a pleasant little stone fountain, with flowing water to encourage everyone to go to the toilet. Yup, that's the Emirates Paris CDG Lounge.

The new Emirates lounge Paris CDG was opened in 2013, and as such is in Emirates new style for outstation lounges. Redesigned for a total investment of €3.8m ($4.9m), the lounge has also been relocated to a more central location, and the overall size of the lounge has also been boosted by 67 percent with a capacity to welcome up to 156 passengers. Officially called the Salon Emirates Paris CDG, the Emirates CDG lounge is in T2A, in the shopping centre between T2A and T2C at Charles d 'Gaulle, so it is easily accessible without a bus trip, and it's only a short walk from checkin. Alas, it can also be a long time queuing unless you ask for a pink express card to zip through security, and then head to Laduráée (a famous French macarons bakery) and turn right, up in the lif, and onto the top floor of the terminal, around an oval void, next to the Paris American Airlines lounge.

Food

The Food in the Paris Emirates Lounge is very good, as you might expect, laid out on a sideboard opposite the main dining chairs. In large white dishes there are hot dishes with lamb tagine, pasta, noodles, fish, and meat pies. You can even get a steak if you want it, although it tends to have spent some time sitting in the metal dish before you get to it. There is the standard round fridge, with cold items on small individual plates for individual portion, and the salads are really good. Fish and prawns make a large appearance. There are some really good and novel types of salads, plus some of the best desserts in mini-bowls on the Emirates network. Reflecting local tastes, there are local delights such as satay (peanut chicken on sticks) and fried rice. There are normally some staff, and sometimes even the chef, hanging around the buffet, and as soon as an item is taken they go away and make another one.

Bar

The same Emirates bar that you will find at all the other lounges makes an appearance in the Paris lounge, which means the usual tiered shelves fully stocked with free pour bottles of spirits. Alas, the wine selection is a little poor, however there are bottles of Champagne in the wine cooler, and Emirates offers Moet Brut Imperial in their Paris lounge. Beer is Heineken and Tiger beer in the fridge. There is only one bar area in the Emirates Paris CDG Lounge, right in the corner past the food.

Bathrooms

There are three small showers, but they aren't full cubicals you would find at other Emirates outstations.

Business Facilities

Free wifi. Computers, in the middle of the lounge.
