However, if you have a real Business Class ticket, you can go upstairs to the almost identical Business Class balcony. Downstairs is the rather frantic zone for elite and Gold members of Garuda Miles Frequent Flyer. Skyteam Elite Plus can use both. However, there are no checks to see who walks between the two lounges.
The Bali Garuda Domestic Business Class Lounge always seems a little bit chaotic, rather as if those who are permitted entry run around grabbing food, something to drink, and relax, in the seven minutes before having to go to the gate and wait an hour for a bus to the plane for the hour long hop to Jakarta.
The main part of the lounge is for dining, and indeed the food here is great. Beside the buffet refectory are lots of dining chairs, and a sort of a view out sideways past the runway. Through the door at the far end of this area is a small room for elites. Inland, by the entrance, are leather armchairs on the right and left of the balcony, with fixed tables between them which even have power sockets built in. The business centre is also here, as is a huge glass wall looking out onto the main concourse - where passengers often peer in at you. Finally at the back are the strange low down curved blue seats favoured by Garuda. There is one part of the lounge which isn't found by most passengers - the outside smoking balcony. Here you can inhale the heady atmosphere of Jet A1, and the smoke from other passengers - because this is the smoking zone.
There are quite a few seats outside, all under umbrellas, and indeed it is away from the hubbub of other passengers, but in a moment of madness Garuda has put opaque film over the windows, so you can't see out, except through a very small sliver between the sheets.
Food
The food in the Garuda Bali Domestic Lounge is superb, with good hot meals available throughout the day. There is a refectory type buffet, under the artwork shelf with some impressive Balinese pots.There are three hot tubs having six dishes, of chicken beef and veggies, with various types of steamed rice and yet more vegetables to go with them. There is hot soup as well, and several trays of fresh fruit.
Bar
Forget the bar in the Garuda Bali Domestic Business Class Lounge. There isn't one. There is a small fridge beside the refectory with cans of soft drink. But that's it. Occasionally passengers report success in getting a beer out of the waiting staff, but the rarity of this event seems to indicate the Bali Domestic lounge is dry.
