Singapore Airlines First Class Sydney Lounge

The Singapore Airlines First Class Sydney Lounge is essentially a small room, divided into three areas, with a small sitting area, buffet dining, and a slightly larger sitting area windows looking out over the apron.

There is however ala carte dining, and waiter service.

Sydney Singapore Airlines First Class lounge review

There is a separate Singapore Airlines Sydney First Class lounge as part of the Singapore lounge complex at Sydney. The curious thing is everyone walks in and goes 'oh. So that's it.' Reviews are not always favourable.

The chief problem with the Sydney First Class Singapore Lounge is that it is identical to the Business Class side - just half the size. Furniture is the same, drinks are very similar, and if anything food is slightly worse. The only advantage is that it isn't a star gold lounge, and hence doesn't admit all the plebs in economy. The only way of getting in here is with a full First Class ticket.

Alas, facilities are nothing like what you'd expect at somewhere as important as Sydney. Infact the furniture is just the same as you get next door in Business. However there are 25 seats, and with only 12 or so generally in First, you can really stretch out.

There is a great view of the airport runway out of the large windows, and of gates 57 and 58 which Singapore commonly use.

Food

Food in the Singapore Airlines First Class lounge isn't as good as you'd expect.

There is a buffet on the counter top. At breakfast time there is a good selection with plenty of fruit salad, and a basket of bread and croissants with a toaster. At lunch and dinner times there are is hot food in the heated cabinet, with several types of pastries and meat pies. There are decent fresh sandwiches with some wraps that are sliced up to look like Swiss rolls. There is also a tub of soup.

For the new late evening flight to Singapore there are meat pies in the food heater above the soup, plus some chicken and Pot Noodles.

However, there is a la carte dining, and waiter service. Don't miss the burgers, satay, and laksa. They are very good indeed.

Bar

The bar is no great shakes either, but at least there is a decent selection of spirits on the shelf.

Wine is OK, with a couple of decent Aussie whites and reds. There is always decent French champagne in a bucket on the worktop, normally Verve Cliquot.

The beer fridge is large and well stocked with everything from Tiger to Guinness (and chilled glasses), add, oddly, Fosters. The lounge is one of the very few places in Australia to stock it.

Bathrooms

In lounge.

Business Facilities

There is a small business-centre with two workstations featuring free Internet Access. There is also free wifi - a password is required, which is on a card provided inside the Business-centre.

There is just one TV on the wall, beside the bar.

There is a great magazine selection. The magazines are on the wall leading down the corridor to the main lounge. However, the quality of the mags isn't that great, unless you are into the sort of magazine which raves about the latest MBA.
