Milan Linate airport
The tiny inner city airport of Milan Linate is a wonderflly convenient airport - that rarest of things, and airport that is close in to the city it serves. Milan's two other airports, Malpensa Airport being some distance away, and the remote Orio al Serio Airport being mainly for low cost airlines.
The small inner city airport of Milan Linate Airport is the third Milan airport, but has a large number of international flights, and is vastly preferred by passengers, being so close to the city. It is only 4 miles (7 km) east of the city centre, compared with Milan Malpensa, a long trek 25 miles northwest.
However, due to being in a dense built up area, it only has aircraft departing every 3 minutes, compared to 2 minutes which it could theoretically handle.
With ten million passengers a year, it is no tiddler, being the fifth busiest airport in Italy.

What makes it so convenient - Linate is within the city limits and just six miles east of the iconic Duomo - is also it's downfall. The site is as heavily constrained as London City airport, and The highly constrained airfield footprint means the terminal is tiny.
Linate's old and tired terminal was refreshed during the height of the summer peak, and now it has some newer shops, and a better restaurant.
The terminal building features five aircraft stands, all of which are equipped with jet-bridges, and a few more remote parking stands which can be reached by bus.
