Leeds Bradford Airport is a small international airport at Yeadon, halfway between Leeds and Bradford, about 8 miles between each. However, almost all locals, and the taxi drivers, still know it as Yeadon Aerodrome.

A minor base for Eastern Airways, nearly four million passengers pass through a year, despite a drop in numbers after it lost it's main long haul route, to Pakistan. Alicante is by far the most popular destination, followed by Malaga, Palma, and Tenerife.

The highest airport in England, at nearly 700 feet, snow can close it occasionally in winter.

A minor rebuilding plan ten yeara ago saw the airport rebuild with arrivals on the ground floor and departures on the first floor.

There are five gates, a bar, cafe, Burger King, and a WH Smiths, plus an amazing array of three lounges, including a new First Class lounge, the 1432.

There is no railway station at LBA airport - you have to take the 757 bus to Leeds station. However, there are plans for the construction of a direct rail link to the airport on a branch from the Harrogate Line

There are local buses from the airport, including Bus 757 to Leeds Railway Station, every 20 minutes. Routes 737 and 747 meanwhile run to Bradford Interchange, and the 747 route goes on to Harrogate. The 737 bus stops at Guiseley halt.

Designed as an upmarket bar, it has a decent wine list, beer and cocktails.
