NCE: Nice Airport - Airport Guide, Terminal map, lounges, bars & restaurants
Nice Airport GuideNEWS: Anew Car Rental Centre was opened in 2011, along with a new car park. Nice Airport is a large airport on the south coast of France - and very handy for holiday resorts in the Med. Correctly called Aéroport Nice Côte d'Azur it is only 6 km (3.5 miles) southwest of Nice city centre.
It can get insanely busy - being the busiest airport in France outside Paris - with over ten million passengers a year, and with several long haul flights.
Nice Airport is located on the western end of the Promenade des Anglais, near l'Arénas - you can walk into the city if you are really determined.
Free wireless internet access is available throughout the airport, and there are also several internet kiosks.
Nice Airport Terminal 1Most airlines use the older Terminal 1. Nice Côte d'Azur Airport Terminal 1 has a chemist on site. Terminal 1 also has a post office.
Nice Airport Terminal 2Terminal 2 is used primarily by Air France (and skyteam partners), plus low cost airlines like Easyjet.
First & Business Class lounges at Nice Airport
Nice Airport transportationTravellers should know that many bus, limousine and shuttle bus services operating to and from Nice Airport usually require pre-booking.
Nice Airport trainStrictly speaking there isn't an airport train as such at Nice, however SNCF do have local services from from Nice St Augustin railway station, 500m from Terminal 1. Trains go to St Laurent du Var station - which again isn't very useful.
Nice Airport shuttle bus servicesThe main bus stop at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is just outside the Arrivals Hall in Terminal 2. Both express bus services cost €4EUR to the city. You can pay for your ticket on the bus, or at a small ticket office opposite the bus quais.
Express bus 98 connects the airport T2 with Nice city centre, at the main Bus Station.
Express bus 99 goes from the airport T2 to Nice Centre Ville Train Station.
Nice Airport taxi servicesGetting a taxi to and from Nice Airport is usually trouble free.
Taxis (are available 24 hours from stands located outside Arrivals at both terminals.
Fares to central Nice cost up to €30EUR when the roads are busy during the peak summer season.
Car Hire at Nice AirportMajor car hire operators are located in the Arrivals Halls. To save time and ensure you get the car you want, book your rental in advance. Rental car operators from Nice Airport include: Europcar, Thrifty, Avis and Budget.
Desks for all these operators are on the arrivals levels of both terminals. Vehicles are collected and returned at the new Car Rental Centre, near Terminal 2. This is reached via the Terminal 2 shuttle bus from Arrivals.
Nice Airport HotelThere are three airport hotels at Nice airport.
The main one, just over the road from Terminal 1, is the Campanile Nice Côte d'Azur
Not really part of a chain, it is best described as a mid-range hotel. If the walk is too far, it isjust a few minutes by shuttle bus (free) from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport. There is an on-site dining room.
Car parkingNice airport car parking is quite good now the new car park has opened, at the new P6 car park, near Terminal 2. It offers a flexible intermediate-length parking option with fixed-term packages.
To get to Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, drive down the Promenade des Anglais. The airport is linked to Cannes and the Antibes via the A8, RN 98 or RN7, and to Digne-les-Bains and Grenoble via RN202.
